NEET PG Latest news- Cut off reduced to zero

Good news for those who aspire to become a doctor. To avoid wastage of PG medical seats, the health ministry has recently reduced the NEET PG cut off to zero. This is the most exciting NEET PG latest news.

This step has been taken by government to reduce wastage of PG seats and to make post-graduate medical education easily accessible in India. However, at the same time, continuous monitoring and competency assessment must be practiced to maintain quality of PG medical education.

Reason for reducing percentile to zero

Last year despite reduction of 20 percentile in the cut-off, 3000 seats remained vacant. To reduce wastage of seats, government has reduced percentile to zero.

Basis of PG medical seats allotment

Reducing the cut-off to zero percentile does not mean that students with zero percentile can directly go to a medical college. Allotment of seats will be done in a centralized manner and only those who have higher percentiles will get seats in premier institutions. Therefore, if you want your PG from a premier institution you have to get a good percentile. Medical counselling committee (MCC) will hold counselling sessions for all India quotas, while the state government will be responsible for counselling of state quota.
